Displaykit was established in the year 2000 by Simon Shardlow. I have been involved in the exhibition industry since 1979, primarily as a designer. My working life began in Architecture, both private practice and local authority work, but I moved into Shopfitting and Exhibition Design after about 6 years.
The rapid environment in which the exhibition industry exists, and the faster turnaround of designs, I found more exciting. One day you could be in an exhibition hall creating stands for the hardware industry and then pull it down and build another stand in the same hall for, say, a fashion industry client!
I also had an interest in Graphic Design, so Exhibitions was a good opportunity to explore both 2D and 3D projects. As Design Director, I worked on various graphic design projects, including vistor information panels at heritage sites, such as Hadrians Wall and Rievaulx Abbey.
I worked as a director for a couple of Exhibition Contracting companies through the 80's and 90's and in my time have dealt with hundreds of exhibition stands - small shell scheme interiors through to double-deckers and large trade association stands. Clients have included Corning Pyrex, Draper Tools, GTMA, Metaltex, Michelin, Peter Werth, Polaroid, Sanyo, Trust House Forte, Viners...and many others.
We work with various display equipment manufacturers and industry service suppliers to provide a very comprehensive range of exhibition equipment and services. We have a very close relationship with our main industry partners and work with them to provide our clients with the latest solutions and services.
