A-Sign Boards are often described as pavement boards - but that doesn't mean that you are automatically allowed to use them on a public pavement/footpath. There is usually no problem on private land, but most people are unaware that there are laws covering signs and advertisements, including their size and location on you property and near public spaces. This is all covered by the The Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007. There is a publication - Outdoor Advertisements and Signs: A Guide for Advertisers - which will give you legal guidance. Having said that, it does depend on local circumstances as to whether or not you may be asked to remove a sign or advertisement.
